Why Buy Offsets
Simply put, airplanes are major polluters. The amount of C02 that airplanes
emit compared to other forms of transportation is immense,
and we are at a point where CO2 and other greenhouse gasses are at levels
never seen before. The effects of climate change can already be seen as the
global temperature has
risen 2.1 degrees farenheit since the late 1800s, causing shrinking glaciers and
rising sea levels. If humans don't work to reduce our emmissions, many parts of the
world will be uninhabitable by the end of the century.
While much of this sounds scary, we are still at a stage where we can mitigate
the effects of climate change if we all do our part to reduce emmissions. Any easy
way to lessen the effects of our CO2 ouput is to buy offsets
that help support projects that reduce emmissions and decrease our carbon footprint. So do your
part and start offsetting your emmissions. While you are at it, maybe plant a tree or
two!!
